Hi Utsuri belong to the Utsuri group. The word ‘Hi’ translates as ‘red’ in Japanese so Hi Utsuri Koi will be black (sumi) and red (hi/beni). Ideally the patterning along the back of a good Utsuri should be alternating like that of a chess board. 

The red on this is more like the crimson/deep red (beni). You can see where the black (sumi) is begining to show, specially on the forehead. As a butterfly, this would a stunning addition to any collection. The black and red alternate on throughout the entire length of the fins and tail.
