A Sushui is a variety of Asagi with a scaleless back, featuring blue coloration with red markings on the body, and metallic scales along the lateral line. Shusui which means ‘autumn water’ and refers to the pattern of red colour on a blue background looking like red leaves that have fallen from a tree to land in the river.

This particular Koi looks like it's wearing a deep red (beni) red helmet and shoulder pads. As a Sushui it also has a deep blue color on the body and the black on te spine are dark and well balanced across the head, just below the "red helmet" tapering all the way to the tail. Also look at the shoulders of this Koi- doesn't it look very muscular! Amazing!
